Does it take a rocket scientist to write good science fiction?  With Stephanie Osbourn, author of Burnout and several other science fiction novels, the question is pointless as she is both writer and rocket scientist.

Stephanie worked for NASA for over two decades and writes about alien races, extraterrestrial exploits, and espionage.

Stephanie’s first book, Burnout, almost didn’t make it to press because it was eerily prescient in many ways.  She had written a science fiction novel speculating on a space shuttle being the target of espionage and destruction.  To her horror, just after she sent the rough draft to her mentor, the shuttle Columbia, with friends and associates on board, went down much in the way she described in her novel.

She immediately wanted to pull the book but, fortunately, her mentor convinced her to finish the project and she has become a well known author.
