Celebrities, comics, and masquerade magnificence with Ms. Maleficent at the Indianapolis Comic Con

This past weekend the Indianapolis Convention Center was filled with comic collectors, gamers, and a swarm of costumed cosplayers for the Indianapolis Comic Convention. Comic book artists, actors, and other celebrities were on hand to sign autographs and for photo opportunities with the attendees.

Carrie Fisher, aka Princess Leia, was there to meet and greet and even held a question and answer session to the delight of her Star War fans.  Jenna Coleman of “Dr. Who” and “Captain America: The First Avenger” made an appearance and fans of “The Game of Thrones” were treated to the presence of actors Jason Momoa and Rory McCann.

Indiana Comic Con is more than a typical comic and celebrity convention, also adding a strong showing for the Anime fans.  Favorite voice actors included Todd Haberkorn of “Fairy Tail“, Christine Marie Cabanos of “Puella Magi Madoka Magica“, and Bryce Austin Papenbrook and Trina Nishimura of “Attack on Titan.”

Saturday evening was the Indianapolis Comic Con’s official masquerade where the attendees had the opportunity to pass before judges, peers, and the general, cosplay loving audience.

In the end the Ms. Maleficent, cosplayed by Jennifer Davis, rose to the top to claim the Grand Prize trophy.  Ms. Davis is an artist, jeweler, and costumer from Danville, Indiana.  Prior to the Indianapolis Comic Con, Ms. Davis had only been in one other costume contest and that was at the Danville Dairy Queen.

Oh, and if the celebrities, panels, artists, exhibitors, and cosplay, weren’t enough, the Game Cave was well stocked with a wide array of video games from classic to current leaving no fan unrepresented at this well rounded comic convention.
