The Mardi Gras celebrations begin with the dropping of the Moon Pie in Mobile, Alabama at 12 a.m. on January first.

The first parade of the season rolled on Dauphin Island, Alabama on January 28th and a second on on February 4th, 2017.
Mardi Gras is now in full swing along the Gulf Coast with parades every weekend in Mobile and New Orleans Mardi Gras will be starting up in earnest this weekend.

After shooting the Dauphin Island parades one of the Old Biloxi Marching Club krewe gave an invite to the Mardi Gras Ball of Les Badineurs.

While there were official programs handed out, this years theme appeared to be “Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.”

Were there bunnies in the original Peter Pan?
As Mardi Gras Masquerades go, this one was a bit hit with the audience and at times folds did go bananas.
