February 14th, 2020 – Valentine’s Day date night and the Oshun, Cleopatra and Alla parades rolled on the streets of Uptown New Orleans.

The first parade of the evening was the Oshun Parade and the marchers energetically kept the pace of the parade.

Alla had a special treat for the parade goers with Blaine and Holly Kern as Grand Marshalls. The Kerns are one of the major forces of Mardi Gras in New Orleans from storing floats during off season to running logistics during the parades.

The real show stealer on Valentine’s Night was when Queen Cleopatra’s boyfriend snuck up onto the float behind her. He positioned himself on the step below and kneeled.

He proffered a ring and popped a question and with a kiss the Krewe of Cleopatra made it a real Valentine’s Mardi Gras parade to remember!
