2011 Schedule – Coming Soon!

August 2011

Gen Con 2011  August 4-7 in Indianapolis, Indiana – Gen Con is the biggest, most comprehensive all around fun convention in the US.  It is most noted for gaming but it has one of  best Masquerades in the Midwest, several great music acts, one of the funniest nerd comedy teams I have ever encountered (The Damsels of Dorkington!) live sized, walk through games including Dungeon/Adventure and board games.  There are also hundreds of artists, writers, exhibitors, and other entertainment industry representatives including Guest of Honor Lloyd Kaufman for you horror and Toxie fans.  Oh, and yes, it is where major and minor game industry representatives premiere their new games.

BTDT! (Been There, Done That!)

Anime Central May 20-22, 2011 Rosemont, Il The biggest anime convention in the midwest.  Final total attendance – 23,183.

World Steam Expo 27-30  Dearborn, Michigan – The World Steam Expo is one of the best, small conventions I have ever attended.  They have a diverse program, events, and guests with a Steampunk theme.  Last year it was the best first year con I ever attended.  This year they blew it through the roof!

Colossalcon  June 2-5, 2011   Kalahari Res & Conv Center Sandusky, OH – This will be my first year for attending Colossal Con but I have heard great things about it.

QC Anime-zing! June 17-19, 2011 Davenport, IA – I am looking forward to heading back west and seeing some of my friends from Iowa and Illinois as well as the great Robert Axelrod!  It looks to be a fun time.

JAFAX June 25-26, 2011 Allendale, MI – This will be my first time to attend Jafax which is practically in my back yard.  I am really looking forward to seeing Doug Smith again.  I first met him at Ushi Con where he was one of the artists in the Iron Artist event and then again at Shuto Con in Lansing, Michigan.

Days of the Dead,  July 1-3 Indianapolis, Indiana – Days of the Dead looks to be the biggest, most impressive horror convention that I have seen to date.  They have a costume contest, movies, vendors/exhibitions, and an amazing variety of guests from horror and science fiction movies as well as the cast of Paranormal State: The New Class.  If you are a Sci Fi/Horror fan, this looks to be the Must Attend event of the year!
