What happens when you take half dozen or so great voice actors, a funny script in the old radio style, and a live audience? At Anime World Indianapolis it was the recipe for a deliciously hilarious show and one of the funniest convention panels I have seen all year!
Robert “Lord Zedd” Axelrod was the announcer with various parts played by Amanda Doskocil, Todd Haberkorn, Kyle Hebert, Alexis Tipton, Christopher Smith, and Kent Williams in Christopher Smith’s The Crimson Ferret: Carnage Asada.
Prior to the show I did an interview with Todd Haberkorn and Amanda Dosksocil. They left from their chat with me about half an hour before the show to get a bite in the green room and take a quick look at the script before the show. Over the past few years I have been impressed with the abilities of these actors when I have seen their performances and have heard them in Q & A panels, but I was even more impressed knowing that most of the actors in the show hadn’t even looked at the script more than a few minutes before the show. There were a few humorous gaffs and trips of the tongue, but that just made it even more funny. The show went off amazingly smoothly with the audience roaring with laughter.
I’d tell you more about the show, but instead, with the permission of the writer, Christopher Smith, I took video instead. So check out the show, but first, check out the interview I did with Todd and Amanda!
