Shriekfest returns to Hollywood this weekend for its thirteenth year with a screaming line up of some of the best indie premieres of fantasy/sci fi, horror and thriller flicks!
Shriekfest is an international film festival held annually at the Raleigh Studios (the oldest, independent studio in continuous operation) 5300 Melrose Ave Hollywood, CA.
The films will be shown in the elegant Chaplain Theater where movie goers can sit back and relax in luxury, at least until the movie starts. Expect a roller coaster ride filled with shrieks, screams, and ending with a sigh of relief as the credits roll and the lights come on.
Friday evening, October 4 at 7 p.m., the World Premiere of “Malignant” with Gary Cairns, Brad Dourif, and Nick Nicotera will start the show in style. The Friday evening frights will continue when Lou Simon‘s “Hazmat” shows what can happen when a reality TV/practical joke program goes seriously wrong. The evenings screenings closes with Simon R. Green‘s “Judas Ghost” where paranormal program professionals investigating a haunted hall may become permanent residents themselves.
The weekend is going to be packed with frightening fun with 34 shorts and 10 features including horror icon, Sid Haig in Devil in My Ride at 4 p.m. Sunday, followed by the world Premiere of the Horror-Comedy, ‘The Shower,’ at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday’s final screaming at 7:45 p.m. is the serial killer/slasher, “Found” with the awards ceremony at 10 p.m. So if you’re in California this weekend, stop by and wish Denise Gossett and Shriekfest a happy 13th anniversary!
