New Orleans is known for its die hard Krewes and the Krewe of Ancient Druids and the Krewe of Nyx are no exceptions.
In spite of the rain, the parades came on and the marching bands, baton twirlers, dancers, and fun flinging floats continued on. The mayor’s ball was going on inside Gallier Hall so the Gallier stand stood empty for the most part.
With the Superbowl, porta-potty ban now lifted, parade goers were again free to go.
While many parade goers chose to go home to get out of the, one group had brought their own portable party suite to weather the storm.
The Festivities will continue through the weekend and beyond to Mardi Gras, Tuesday night when they pull out all the stops and New Orleans will be full of Mardi Gras music, floats, and fun!
